No NaNoWriMo For Me . . .

. . . for a couple of reasons:

First, I’m already busy with this revising project, and I don’t want to drop everything to start writing another novel. I already know what my next book will be, but I’m waiting to finish this project before I start it.

Second, I don’t think the frantic pace of NaNoWriMo is the way that I want to write. I prefer to write a little slower than, say, the writers whose blogs I’ve linked to. I like to take my time with a novel. Could I write 1500+ words a day, every day, for a month? Probably, but that pace would produce a rotten draft which would require a LOT of revising in December.

Still, NaNoWriMo is a cool idea, and I’ll be visiting blogs of writers who are participating. Hopefully, some writers will use their blogs as their writing platform and post all of their work online. That might be a little embarrassing for some writers, but it would be fascinating for readers like me.

  3. As you probably know by now, I agree with you. However, it really warms my heart to see people chasing goals… even if I don’t agree eith those goals. To many people have NOTHING… dare to dream I say and then go chase it!

Good luck on your project(s)… I think you have a great attitude.
